Students injured when roof tumbled at Dothan Prep Academy

Date:

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) – A suspected tornado hit Dothan Preparatory Academy on Monday afternoon.

Paramedics responded to a call from a roof that fell on five students, but their injuries were later described as minor. Two of those students were treated at a hospital, according to Deputy Dothan Fire Chief Chris Etheredge. The other three injuries did not require transport.

For parents of students at Dothan Prep, the reunification point to pick them up will be at Doug Tew Recreation Center on Garland Road. There will be DPA bus service, but buses will run from other campuses.

Other damage was reported in the South Foster Street and South St. Andrews areas of Dothan, including Cottonwood Road
