Thousands will descend on Nashville this weekend as runners pound the pavement at the annual St. Jude Rock ‘N’ Roll Marathon.
Road closures are expected to begin April 25 and continue through April 27 as runners compete in a 26.2-mile marathon and a 13.1-mile half-marathon on April 26 at 7:20 a.m.
For the casual runner, there will be a 5k and 10k race that starts at 6:30 a.m. on April 26. And don’t forget the kids. They’ll have their own events on April 27.
The festivities are expected to bring more than 20,000 runners to Nashville. The marathon and half marathon will begin at 8th and Broadway and pass several Music City landmarks like Dolly Parton’s recording studio and the Country Music Hall of Fame before finishing at Nissan Stadium.
But all the fun may make it challenging to get around the city, unless you are running, of course.

How Nissan Stadium construction impacts roads
Due to ongoing construction of the new Nissan Stadium, Nissan campus roads will be closed April 25 through 3 p.m. on April 27. Detour using Interstate Drive or South 5th Street.
Only in Music City
Because it’s Music City, the marathon will feature entertainment throughout the course.
Following the race, runners will be treated to a concert at Nissan Stadium, featuring the Eaglemaniacs, a cover band of The Eagles and Landon Parker, a country artist from North Carolina.
