Former Ghanaian striker Augustine Ahinful has urged the Black Stars to approach their upcoming matches with caution and avoid underestimating any opponent.
The senior national team is set to regroup for the first time this year as they prepare for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.
Ghana will first host Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium before travelling to Morocco to face Madagascar at the Al Hoceima Grand Stadium on Monday, March 24.
Ahead of these crucial fixtures, Ahinful emphasized the need for the team to respect every opponent.
“We cannot underrate any opposition since every country is improving,” he told Asempa FM.
“That has been our challenge as a country that we feel we are the best but we need to respect any opposition.”
He further stressed that while a dominant win against Chad would be welcome, the Black Stars must not take any team lightly.
“If we record a cricket scoreline against Chad, so be it but we shouldn’t underrate any side,” he added.
After securing just two victories in 10 matches played in 2024, Ghana will be eager to kick off 2025 on a strong note.
