Sen. Mallory McMorrow and Prosecutor Peter Lucido

Michigan state Sen. Mallory McMorrow, who is considering a run for U.S. Senate in 2026, recounts in her new book the fallout after she accused fellow Sen. Peter Lucido of sexual harassment in 2020, The Detroit News reports.

Titled “Hate Won’t Win: Find Your Power and Leave This Place Better Than You Found It,” the book details how Lucido, a fellow senator in 2018, touched her lower back, looked her up and down, and said he could see why she won her race for the Senate, The News reports. The book is set to be released Tuesday.

McMorrow wrote that she felt Lucido’s “eyes assess every inch of my body and score me in his mind like a purebred at a dog show.”

The incident happened just as the #MeToo movement was gaining moment.

Lucido, of Shelby Township, who has denied the allegations, is currently the Macomb County prosecutor.

In 2020, McMorrow said then-Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey, R-Clarklake, was furious after she informed him that she had gone to the media about her encounters with Lucido. She said Shirkey later apologized for the tone he used with her.
