FT: Liverpool 3-1 Man Utd
Liverpool’s Olivia Smith speaking to BBC: “It was special. I think I brought out my individual quality there.
“I had my best friend from from home, my mum, my sister, my dad and some family friends [here] as well.
“I definitely think there’s a bit of relief and then that’s when we built confidence and momentum going into the second half as well.
“I think we just needed a reset and now we’re in a new formation, it allows us to bring our different qualities. We all feel good, the competition in training is really good.”
On her first goal: “I just saw that I was one-v-one and I took my opportunity, it went through their goalkeeper’s legs. To go far post was the best decision for me.”
On what she was thinking before the penalty: “It’s already set in my mind, when I get a pen I already know where it’s going.
“It’s been fun going against top opponents. It’s been really good for me to improve and i can look back at these games and see what I can do better for the next match.”
