Could Giants turn to Joe Flacco if they miss out on Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson?

Date:

Who will be under center for the Giants next season?

That question remains unanswered as of Wednesday morning. Big Blue, of course, has shown interest in veterans Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson early on in the process, but it remains to be seen whether or not either of them will decide to take his talents to the Big Apple.

Former Giants QB Daniel Jones signing with the Colts rather than returning to the Vikings left the door open for Rodgers to potentially head to Minnesota, where he’d be in a much better position to win-now.

Wilson would then likely re-sign with the Steelers, whom he led to the playoffs last season.

If that were to be the case, the Giants would then have to turn their attention elsewhere in their quarterback search, and Paul Schwartz of the New York Post floated the idea of Joe Flacco being a player who might interest them.

The 40-year-old is a one-time MVP, one-time Super Bowl champ, and he took home the AP Comeback Player of the Year award two seasons ago while with the Cleveland Browns.

Flacco spent last year backing up first-round pick Anthony Richardson in Indianapolis, and he ended up starting six games while the youngster was hurt down the stretch — one of which was Big Blue’s costly third win of the season.

He completed 162-of-248 passes for 1,761 yards and 12 touchdowns.
